2008 Fundraiser

RECORD TWELVTH YEAR
The City of Los Angeles held its biggest sporting event of the year, the LA Honda Marathon, Emerald Nut 5K and Acura Bike tour. This is the Neighborhood Junior Tennis Program’s biggest annual fundraiser. The weather was clear and comfortable and the residents of Los Angeles came out in full force despite the early a.m. start times. The LA Marathon had over 21,000 runners; the Acura Bike Tour had 15,100 cyclists. The NJTP participated in each event. Our fundraisers included parents and kids, NJTP board and staffers, and friends of the NJTP. A total of 46 people participated in this year’s marathon. All three events featured course routes that took participants throughout the city. It was a unique feeling traveling down streets like Figueroa, Western and Martin Luther King without car traffic. The NJTP would like to say “Thank You” to the over 325 wonderful people and companies from all over the city, state and country who made pledge donations on behalf of the Neighborhood Junior Tennis Program.

NJTP supporters participate at the 2008 Acura Bike Tour, held by the City of Los Angeles.
